WebIt's the motherboard that controls the fan. The fan itself doesn't know how hot the cpu is, there has to be a software monitoring it and controlling the fan, and that has to be in bios. Plus the machine has been like this since I first purhased it. Lenovo support only guides to install the latest bios, which i already have.
