Dplf is not meant to be used as a stand alone product meaning it needs to be top coated. PPG is trying to get its customers to stop using dplf products over bare metal, they recommend a self etching primer like dx1791. Dplf doesnt seal out the elements like dp did.

WebMay 5, 2008 · Slower activators as well as slower reducers added also play into the flatness. Spraying the second coat to fast can also add more gloss. Flattener can be totally over ridden by applying coats too fast with out proper flash times.
